Critically acclaimed world fusion act Beats Antique return to New York City for a huge show at Irving Plaza on October 25th, bringing their one of a kind live show back to the city for a memorable throw down. The group, originally formed to create unique music for belly dancer and producer Zoe Jakes, has since made a name for themselves as a live juggernaut, consisting of Jakes, David Satori, and Tommy Cappel, touring around the world and playing various major music festivals.Beats Antique blends together music from around the globe, including Middle Eastern belly dancing music, hip hop, jazz, afro-beat, and electronic music, creating a booming live show that is sometimes hard to categorize. While the band jams on stage, Jakes performs her own brand of jaw dropping belly dancing, taking the whole spectacle to the next level.Beats Antique is one of those acts that seems to appeal to everyone – they’ve collaborated with a wide range of musicians from Bassnectar to John Popper of Blues Traveler. Without sounding cliche, there truly is something for everyone within their music and show. Their last two shows at Brooklyn Bowl sold out, so don’t miss out this time around!Tickets for the show are available, here.
